About Medigap Plans
Medigap plans are standardized by the federal government. This means Plan G from one insurance company offers the same benefits as Plan G from another company – only the price and customer service differ. Plans C and F are only available to those who became eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020.

Which Plan is Right for You?
Plan G – Most Popular
Covers everything except the Part B deductible ($240). Best for those who want comprehensive coverage with predictable costs. This is the most popular Medigap plan for new Medicare beneficiaries.
Plan N – Best Value
Lower premiums than Plan G but with small copays ($20 for doctor visits, $50 for ER). Good choice if you’re healthy and want to save on monthly premiums while still having good coverage.
Plans K & L – Budget Options
Lowest premiums but you pay a percentage of costs until you reach the out-of-pocket limit. Best for those on a tight budget who are generally healthy.
Plan F – Grandfathered
If you were eligible for Medicare before 2020, you can still buy Plan F, which covers everything including the Part B deductible. However, premiums tend to be higher than Plan G.
Important Reminders
Guaranteed Issue Period: The best time to buy Medigap is during your 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period, which starts when you’re 65 or older and enrolled in Part B. During this time, you can’t be denied coverage or charged more due to health problems.
Compare Prices: Since benefits are standardized, shop around for the best price. The same plan from different companies offers identical benefits.
No Network Restrictions: Medigap works with any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare nationwide.
